Jillian and Brenden

Merry Christmas to you all! What a wonderful and joyous time to celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Recently, I had the privilege of photographing Jillian and Brenden. These two will be getting married this upcoming summer and have asked Chris and myself to be their photographers. We are honored! And can hardly wait for August to get here:)

Here are a few of my favorite photos from their engagement session at the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge. We took advantage of one of the few dry (but cold) December days. There are a few pics with an extra little cutie (my favs).  Enjoy:)

Bryttani and Matt (Tacoma Wedding Photograhy)

A little montage from the last wedding we photographed this year: Bryttani & Matt. Matt is the son of our good friends Mary & Kirk, and we were privileged to have been their photographers. Thank you for choosing us.

This wedding took place in Pt. Defiance Park, in Tacoma, Wa. We could not have asked for better weather, especially after a week of almost non-stop rain.

Bryttani & Matt, congratulations to you two! May you have many happy years together. And enjoy the video.

Blessings,

Chris.

Teresa and Greg – Tacoma Wedding Photography

Our congratulations go out to Teresa and Greg, married on September 18 at Thornewood Castle in Lakewood, WA (Tacoma).

If you remember (you may not-but I do), the weather was horrible for the entire week leading up to the wedding. In fact, I don’t ever recall seeing so much rain in such a short period of time–I believe that we set some records for rainfall that week. But I digress.

So, the weather was horrible and we were praying for sunshine. And guess what? It was sunny and dry on that Saturday morning. We were so happy that we would actually get to use the sunken gardens for the ceremony. We proceeded as planned given the restrictions of the venue and started to take our photographs. And then, right in the middle of our formals, the skies opened up and it started to rain again.

Well, a little rain doesn’t stop us from getting great photos, which we did. So the following are some of the photographs that we managed to take that day.

We wish Teresa and Greg all our best and we look forward to working on designing your wedding album for you.

Blessings,

Chris.

Monica and Tim – Seattle Wedding Photography

Our congratulations go out to Monica & Tim, who were married a few weeks back in a beautiful ceremony at New Hope Baptist Church in Seattle, Wa.

We feel so blessed to have been honored with the task of photographing the weddings of so many great couples, and Monica and Tim were no exception. We have been looking forward to their wedding for such a long time and we weren’t disappointed in how wonderful their ceremony was, their reception, and their friends and family.

And a great big kudos to Events in the City for all they did to make this day in success. We look forward to working with you again.

Blessings,

Chris.

Getting Married in Pierce County, WA?

So 2010 is the year that you are planning to get married? Maybe 2011 or 2012? Or maybe you’re already married. Great! Congratulations.

Well, we are in the process of collecting nominations for 10 best places to get married in Pierce County, WA (we’re actually planning to produce a video that features these places). So if you have your venue or church picked out, let us know what it is and where it is so we can add it to our list. (of course, it helps in the venue is beautiful and not your backyard). At the top of our list so far is Laurel Creek Manor and Rock Creek Gardens.

So let us know your thoughts. Drop us an email at info@chrismckennaphotography or look us up on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/mckennavideophoto ) and leave a note there.

We look forward to hearing from you. And we promise not to try and sell you something–unless you want us to. 🙂

Blessings,

Chris.

Wedding Planners in Pierce County, WA

TO STRESS OR NOT TO STRESS

Do you have a friend who is getting married, or are you getting married yourself? Have you ever been to a wedding which was chaotic and unorganized-where the wedding party didn’t know where to stand, the food was cold and the DJ stopped playing music leaving “dead air” during dinner? Awkward!?!?!

We have had the honor of documenting so many beautiful weddings over the years, some of which were well organized, others, well, could have used some (OK…a lot) of help. If you are a bride-to-be, my advice to you is to take that extra step to get new and innovative ideas, add a touch of luxury and alleviate the stress from your most beautiful wedding day.

We recently had the pleasure of meeting an amazing wedding planner/coordinator, Tricia Fisk, of Weddings Realized (www.weddingsrealized.com). Her expertise in providing planning and coordinating services is evident in her personality and knowledge of her profession. In the years that she has been in the “wedding business”, she has offered couples an opportunity to truly enjoy every aspect of their wedding, from the planning stages to the day of their union.

What many couples don’t realize is that someone needs to be the “go to guy”, especially the day of their wedding. There are so many details that need to be attended to; delivery of the flowers, DJ, food, cake, making sure all parties needed for photos are in place and ready to smile, dress is flawless, officiant is present, and so many other needs.

Also, many couples don’t know that a wedding planner has great connections to other wedding professionals, and can refer you to an appropriate vendor. Often times a wedding planner can orchestrate and pass along a professional discount on flowers, rentals, venues etc. She can refer you to the best photographers and videographers in the area, where you can be sure that your wedding day is documented perfectly forever.

Couples preparing to be married should be able to concentrate on each other, not the minuscule details that can make or break their wedding day. Hand these stress makers over to a pro. I recommend that you call Tricia for a brief consult and see if she is a good fit for you.  Ensure that your wedding day runs smooth and beautiful. Hire a professional wedding planner. It will be so worth your while.

God’s blessings,

Chris.

Kim and Reese: Loving You Forever

We have been real busy the last couple of months and have somewhat neglected getting some photos and video online for you to view, and now we’re trying to catch up…

Attached are just a few photographs that we shot at Kim and Reese’s wedding, which occurred on a very rainy and blustery October 17 at the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle, WA (you know-the same one that the Beatles stayed in during their visit to Seattle). We were asked to only photograph some formal family pictures and the ceremony. Nonetheless, we shot some great photographs and wanted to share them with you.

Our congratulations go out to Kim and Reese, and we wish then many happy years together.

    Chris.

Jodi and Alden: Let’s Be Together

This is a short photo montage video that we put together for Jodi and Alden, who are going to be married next month.

I took the photographs contained within this montage at a local park, here in Puyallup, not too far from our studio. It was a great shoot, despite the rain, and we enjoyed our time with this great couple.

Congratulations, Jodi and Alden, on your engagement and we are looking forward to your wedding.

    Blessings,
    Chris
