Shot of the Day, April 2, 2021

Oh my goodness, do you know how long it’s been since I’ve done one of these posts? Maybe 5 years. Holy Cow!!! Time sure flies when you’re having fun. Or is it time’s sure fun when you’re having flies. Whatever. Haha.

Anyway, I have taken so many photographs of round-the-house stuff while stuck in quarantine during this pandemic. This particular photograph is of Mt. Rainier that I took a few months ago while sitting round waiting to start my day. It was a foggy kind of day and the mountain was in complete silhouette during the sunrise and the top of the it had a hint of the sunshine to come.

Enjoy and Blessings,

Chris.

Returning from New York

Hi gang.

Chris here. Just got back from New York (my favorite city) with the family. Got some amazing photographs–not nearly enough in terms of quantity for a photographer like me–but great nonetheless. I will get a post together and get them out in the next few weeks (or month).

Happy June to you!!!

Blessings,

Chris.

Shot of the Day 9/09/2014

Been a while since I posted a ‘shot of the day’. Oh well-not going to give an excuse.

So when I go out to shoot photographs, I am sometimes amused by the goings on around me, such as other photographers. You see them coming and going, you see them with different cameras, different equipment, and sometimes you see people that have no clue as to what they are doing. Not the case here, however. These two were intent on capturing something along Sparks Lake outside of Bend, Or. I never figured out what exactly they were doing or what they were trying to capture, besides the mountains that the rest of us were, but their movements along shoreline rocks piqued my interest and I snapped a photograph of them.

Anyway, here you go.

Enjoy.

Shot of the Day 3/29/14

Good morning fellow photo enthusiasts,

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted anything–way too busy these days. So I am posting a picture I took last Saturday.

This is a picture of the sunset over Lake Tanwax in rural Pierce County, Washington.

I love it, I hope you do too!

Blessings,

Chris.

Shot of the Day 3/01/2014

Lynette and I had to take a quick trip to Seattle to day to take care of some business. While we were up there, I thought that I might take a couple of quick shots of the Seattle skyline. I was hoping for something more dynamic in terms of sky or sunshine or stormy skies, but I think that I came away with something decent despite the flat, gray clouds. For the record, I hate flat, gray skies.

Anyway, I thought that we take some trips around town to get a few other shots, but were rained out. Oh well, just leaves something for another time.

The longer, more narrow picture here is a 6 photograph panoramic shot.  Both are available as prints and/or canvas. Click on the thumbnail to enlarge the image.

Blessings,

Chris.

Shot of the Day 12/13/13

From the ice storm a couple of years ago. Certainly not hoping for more of this-we lost a lot of trees and were out of power for 4 days-but the image is beautiful.

And yes, we are hoping for some snow this year. Come on S-N-O-W!!!

Blessings,

Chris.

Shot of the Day 12/07/13

Good morning, friends!

Today, I am posting a photograph I took exactly 2 weeks ago as I stood atop the Steptoe Butte overlooking the Palouse. It was a very cold morning, about 19 degrees, but very clear. From this vantage point (about 3600 feet above sea level, you can see the entire Palouse region, the other buttes in the area and the some of the nearby mountains in Idaho, and northward up onto Mt. Spokane. In this particular photo, you are looking down to the south onto the small town of Steptoe.

In this photograph, I love the colors in the rolling hills, moving from green to the brownish tan, and the blue of the sky.

Enjoy and blessings,

Chris

Ansel Adams is one of the photographers that I love and would love to take a photograph like. Not every photo leads itself to black and white tone mapping image, but every once-in-a-while an opportunity presents itself that you just have to take.

This is one of those photographs. I took this over the weekend during a drive with my son.

Enjoy.
