Horse, Horse, Horse, Cecil, and a Swan

Well, its only almost the end of August and I’m so far behind in my blog posts. Big surpise-right? Anyway, we were up in Bellingham last month taking some last engagement photographs of our son and his finance before their wedding. While Lynette was snapping away, I managed to get away and photograph some of the horses at the farm.

These are incredible animals and they were very cooperative for me. Thank you guys (and gals). It’s so much easier for everyone when we all behave. Haha.

Oh, and don’t forget the resident swan.

Blessings,

Chris.

Mt. Rainier Panoramic

Hi Friends,

The image below is an 8 photo panoramic I shot of Mt. Rainier taken yesterday. WAIT! You can’t see Rainier? Well neither could we (it should be in the upper right corner of this photo). But if you look closely you may see Mt. Adams off in the distance.

We got a real late start in the day and were hoping to get some sunset shots from Crystal Mountain, but it didn’t look like the clouds were going to break so we made the trek over to Sunrise in the hopes that getting closer might yield a shot or two. Well, it wasn’t to be. Perhaps next time (I will post a few others later on).

Blessings until next time,

Chris.

2016 JBLM Air Expo

Hi Friends.

I love airplanes! I love airshows! I could spent all day watching airplanes roll in and out of an airport, not to mention anything about aerobatics and demonstration flights.

In late August, Lynette and I managed to make our way to Joint Base Lewis-McChord for the 2016 JBLM Air Expo, the first time it had been put on in a number of years. I think the last time we went out kids were very little-old enough to remember but too young to drive (and if you know my kids you know that they are grown now). There were a number of acts scheduled to appear, including a number of WWII aircraft and a demonstration by the U.S. Army Golden Knight Paratrooper Team and the USAF Thunderbirds. The car was gassed up, the batteries were charged, the weather was supposed to be perfect and everything was a “go” as far as I was concerned.

Then Saturday rolled in along with the weather. While it wasn’t raining, thank God, the wind was horrific. And if you know anything about aviation, wind and airshows are not a good combination. So a lot of the acts were canceled for the day. However, there were still a decent number of demonstrations and I managed to get off a few good shots.

So what we have here are a few shots of a North American B-25 Mitchell, a Lockheed P-38 Lightning, a Lockheed T-33, a Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet, a Boeing C17, and of course the USAF Thunderbirds that are General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcons. I also have a couple shots of some of the static displays, and couple of shots from around the grounds, a shot of ‘yours truly’ (complements of Lynette), and a few of all the other cameras shooting various flights.

I hope you enjoy.

Blessings,

Chris.
