Missing you George

I’ve been spending a good portion of this week restoring my tools (fixing this blog and transferring photo’s to a new computer) and I have been running across a lot of pictures of my friend George.

George was another business owner that crossed our path many years ago in a networking group. He was a DJ by trade and great friend by nature. We ended up working a lot of weddings and other events with him over the following years. George even DJ’d at my 40th birthday-an 80’s music festival in my backyard with other friends and family .

Anyway, George unexpectedly passed away a few years back. I miss talking with him on the phone as we always did. We never did connect for that beer, but I know that he’s keeping the stool warm for me in heaven.

Rest in peace, George. We miss you.

Salish to Salish 10K

Last Saturday, I had the unique opportunity to photograph the first annual Salish to Salish 10K in Bellingham. My daughter-in-law, Molly McKenna, organized this amazing event benefiting an awesome non-profit – Skookum Kids.

“Skookum Kids is built around a single big idea: that if we take great care of people, the mission will take care of itself. So we work really hard to make this a delightful place to volunteer and be a foster parent. We believe in health for all, meaning that no person should ever have to sacrifice their own health to serve kids. That’s not to say we don’t work hard (because believe me, we do), but that healthy, happy, well-supported people get more done.”  www.skookumkids.org

With several hundred runners and walkers-time qualified, and a ton of volunteers, this 10K proved to be everything is should have been: a great race, a philanthropic opportunity, and most important, an awareness of a program for foster kids and foster parenting support.

As you will see in the photos, a gorgeous crisp fall day greeted everyone involved. So many helpful volunteers. Many smiles. If you want to help support this event next year, contact Salish Wealth Management, Bellingham-([email protected])

Please enjoy a few of the 500+ pic I captured.

Blessings,

~Lynette

Emily and Joey-The Williams Wedding

It’s summer, and that means wedding season! What a magical time; beautiful brides and handsome grooms are joining together in this most extraordinary commitment. I love it!

This past weekend, Chris and I were blessed to share this extraordinary moment with Joey and Emily. What an amazing couple! You will see from their photos how much love emanates from their eyes. It was a sight to behold; a love story shared with family and friends in the intimate setting of Joey’s home. There were moments of joy and laughter, and tears of emotion flowed throughout the crowd. Splendid!

Congratulations Emily and Joey! You both deserve the world, and I think that’s exactly what you will bring to each other.

Thank you so much for asking us to be a part of your most precious day.

Congratulations Gigi and Jerry!

Hello everyone. Let’s all give our heartfelt congratulations to our friends Jerry and Gigi Church!

Chris and I have known Jerry for well over 15 years. In fact, Jerry and Chris went to school together at Decatur HS. Small world, isn’t it? We had the delight to finally meet the girl who swept Jerry off of his feet. We love Gigi! What an amazing and beautiful woman with a love for “her man” (as she lovingly refers to Jerry), that cannot be matched.

Jerry and Gigi were married at St Luke’s Lutheran Church in Federal Way 2 weeks ago, and spent their honeymoon having a blast at Disney World.

Thank you both for allowing us to be a part of your marriage and to help you celebrate this joyous event. It was a beautiful ceremony for a beautiful couple. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness to you guys!

Blessings~

Congratulations to Tyler and Breanne!

What an incredible weekend! Amidst the blowing wind and driving rain, God opened up a brief respite. Wow! One of our best weddings yet! Last Saturday was a glorious display of love and commitment for our couple. Breanne and Tyler, as you will see, are one of the most beautiful couples we have ever seen. They showed love and affection to each other through their wedding day, with no anxiety or irritation to be seen. These two love birds are a perfect couple. We had a great time with them and their entire family! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Selland. Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your most special day. It was an honor and a privilege. Blessings to you:)

2016 Half Marathon

Hi Friends,

We happened to swing by the 2016 Fall City Half Marathon last month on a quick trip to Snoqualmie. Not to belabor a point, but the weather was horrible and we didn’t stick around. I happened to capture a few images from the start of the race and the end. Then we went home.

Enjoy.

Headshots

Hi Folks,

Happy New Year. I pray that your Christmas was full of joy and special times spent with friends and loved ones.

I just wanted to give you a heads-up—we are back doing headshots again. With one caveat: groups only. Individuals can be done but with some conditions and limitations (call or email for details).

We recently completed a group of doctors who had come together at a local hotel for a conference and we were able to get 25 of their headshots completed while they were there (example below).

If your groups is interested, please consider giving us a call we’ll get you take care of.

In the mean time, blessings to you and your family.

Puyallup Fair 2014 – Washington State Fair

We visited the Washington State Fair (aka the Puyallup Fair, aka Western Washington Fair) last night for a few hours. I primarily go to look at the photography and fine art displays, which are always impressive, but last night I brought my camera and thought it would be fun to take a few pictures of the goings on around use. This is what I captured.

Enjoy.

Rockin’ the “Dock”!!

Last night’s gig was awesome at Rock the Dock (http://www.rockthedockpub.com/) in Tacoma, WA on Dock street! Once again Blurred Vision (http://www.blurredvisionrocks.com/about_us.html)  did not disappoint. This is a band with true talent from their bangin’ vocals to their rockin’ instruments. I always love seeing my buddies from Rogers High class of 1984, Brent Ferguson (lead vocal/harmonica) and Scott Brown (wailing electric guitar). Last night I had the chance to meet the rest of the band: Barbara (vocals), Kevin ( electric guitar/vocals), Tim (bass/vocals), Don (drums/vocals) and Mark (keyboard/vocals). Check them out on Facebook (https:/www.facebook.com/pages/Blurred-Vision-Rocks/108613333472). Please enjoy some of the pictures from last night event. And watch for Blurred Vision’s next gig details.
