McKenna Video Online Ordering System Now available

I know, I know. This is a photography site, but I am talking about video services? Yes, so sorry, but bear with me please.

I am happy to announce that our online order system for videotape to DVD and 8mm film to DVD transfer services is now online and ready for your use.

At this point, the system will only accept orders for straight video and film transfers. It offers our customers the ability to send the film to us at their convenience and be free from the restrictions of our in-studio hours. And because it is online and simplifies the process, it allows us to drop the price a little.

While the ordering pages are 100% secure (payment is accepted through PayPal), keeping our costs down means that we don’t have a programmer on-staff to complete a nice custom ordering page/shopping cart. But rest assured, our top quality film and tape transfer work will still be put into all of your projects.

The page is organized into 3 sections: one for silent film, one for sound film, and the last for videotapes. Be sure if you use this system that you place your order in the appropriate section. If you have a custom order, please call us or send us an email and we will either schedule a time in-studio or send you a custom invoice.

Let us know how you like our online ordering system. And please give us feedback if there is anything difficult or confusing that you find.

Visit the page at www.mckennavideo.com/orders.html .

Blessings,

Chris.

Back Online

I can’t seem to catch a break!

You know what I mean. Every time you turn around something needs your attention. The kids, the house, the dogs, the customers, your website. It has been that way for me so far this year. Moving from one crisis to another, hoping along the way that nothing else happens. Well it did for me and the latest casualty was this website.

While  moving from one thing to another (including going without electricity due to ‘snowmageddon’), the hosting on this website expired and poof, there it went into the proverbial “cyber black hole.” It was down for 13 days before I even noticed it was gone. YIKES! Well, long story short, it is finally back up!

Thank you to our friends, fans, and visitors for your patience while we worked out our issues. We are now good for another year.

Blessings,

Chris.

Extraterrestrial Highway

Ok everybody. As my close friends are aware, we are out of the studio this week on vacation. We decided to take a road trip since flying somewhere is out of the question with airfares being so high (for the last 2 years we were planning on going to New York City and staying in Manhattan, but that was out of the cards this year).

So, we loaded up the car and decided to take a long loop from Washington through Idaho and down into Eastern Nevada, ending up in Las Vegas for a few days before we head back up through Reno and Medford, Or. and back up to Washington.

One of the stops that I always wanted to make was in Rachel, NV., a small city right outside the infamous and non-existent Area 51. Don’t ask me why, but I do. So, anyway, on the way down from Twin Falls, we didn’t get an opportunity to stop in Rachel, but we did manage to stop at the “Extraterrestrial Highway” cutoff from Route 93 and get a couple of pictures.

Maybe next time I’m in Las Vegas I’ll finally get the opportunity to stop there, but in the mean time I have these pictures to enjoy my “close encounter.”

Enjoy.

Blessings,

Chris.

P.S. I’ll be posting a portfolio of my “hotel portraits” sometime after I get back to the studio and have had an opportunity to finish them.

Are You Following Us on Facebook and Twitter?

I love the blogging, but it is very hard for me to carve out time to write them all the time (I have 3 blog sites that must be maintained and updated). Over the last 6 months it has been very difficult for me to find the time to write and get things posted. I have found that social media is where its at these days. A quick post, a random thought, a link not worth of a full blog posting may end up on our social media pages.

Having said that, if you are not following us on Facebook and Twitter, maybe you should? I have posted a couple of links here that will take you directly to our pages. Go ahead, click on the links, like us on Facebook and follow me on Twitter. And if you follow us on Facebook, I promise not to bombard your wall with all kinds of random stuff like others do.

You won’t be disappointed.

New Website Finally Up

Ok. Finally! It has been a long road to get here, but we are happy to say that our new website is finally up and going.

We hope that you enjoy the look and feel of it. It now includes our blog, complete with tips and tricks. We will attempt to keep it current with fresh content. We still have to add some portfolio content, so please excuse the fact that there may not be anything added yet.

Also, please forgive the fact that our blog pages may not have all our pictures loaded in yet. When we converted the blog from our former website, the media did not follow. We will attempt to rectify that and get that media posted back in ASAP.

In the mean time, please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Post the comments here, and send your questions to [email protected] .

Blessings,

Chris.

Happy Fathers Day

“The greatest gift I had came from God; I call him Dad.”

~author unknown.

Happy Fathers Day.

Chris.

Memorial Day Thank You!

Today,
we pause to reflect
on the sacrifices that
our brothers, our fathers,
our fellow countrymen
made to keep us safe,
to keep us secure,
to give us freedom,
to give us liberty,
to give us a place to live,
to study as we choose,
free to worship as we choose,
free to pursue happiness as we choose.

We can’t thank you enough
for the sacrifices that you made.

Today we honor you.

Chris

Thank You for the Thank You

One of the greatest rewards in my life are the “thank you”‘s I get from my customers. And I don’t mean the “thank you for transferring my video tape to DVD”-type of thank you. I mean the “my photographs are so awesome” sort of thank you.

Consider the following we have received:

“I would highly recommend Chris McKenna (and MVS) for anyone who wants to work with a photographer and videographer who is honest and works very hard to accommodate their clients. They have done the photography and videography of my son’s wedding (April, 2009) which also included his engagement pictures on the waterfront in Tacoma and a movie to be played at the wedding of the bride and good and family members. They also helped us put together the most beautiful wedding album I’ve ever seen (and I’m in the wedding business as a florist and see many albums, pictures, etc.).

They also did an on location session of my grandson’s first pictures. They came to the home so the baby could be in his own bassinet and surrounded by his own blankets, toys, etc. I thought this was very caring and the pictures are just beautiful. This company is A#1 and I will only use and recommend them to anyone who needs a first class photographer and videographer.”

“You are a fantastic photographer, Chris! The pictures turned out incredible and you guys did a beautiful job of capturing the day! Thank you both for your photographic genius, your support and your friendship!”

~ Jodi & Alden

“I want you two to know how much we love the video you made for us. You also did a fantastic job on our pictures. You’re the best–thanks so much.”

~ Kim & Reese

“Chris and Lynette were great. They are easy to work with and our pictures are more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. They helped us out a lot of our actual wedding day and were respectful of our requests. I would highly recommend Chris McKenna (MVS).”

~ Stacy & Shaun (excerpt taken from Pictage)

“Chris is a very professional photographer who was very easy to work with. He was on time for all meetings and was very organized on the day of our wedding. I would recommend him to everyone I know. He has a great customer service attitude and his number one concern is his client’s satisfaction and happiness with his work. We were very pleased with the quality of his work and the time he spent to get the right shots on our big day. We were so glad we decided to go with Chris McKenna (MVS) for our special day. No regrets, only total satisfaction.”

~ Kristine & Andrew (excerpt taken from Pictage)

“We hope you know how much we appreciate all the hard work and dedication you put into our wedding-you worked so hard and genuinely cared about capturing the whole day!

We feel that thank you is not enough. The pictures are gorgeous and the video you did for us makes me cry every time. People at work are always commenting on how good it was (and how many people it brought tears to).

So thank you for adding that special touch!!!”

~ Sinead & Kevin

Do I need to say any more?

Blessings,

Chris
